Back up and sync your files
Before you get your new Windows laptop, you need to make sure you've backed up and synced your files and data, so that you don't lose anything important.
Follow the two steps below:
Back up your files onto Google Drive
Sign into Chrome to sync bookmarks, website passwords and browsing history

- Back up your files onto Google Drive
To make sure you can access any important files that you've saved on your Mac from your new device, you need to backup your files.
Save your files to Google Drive
Open Google Drive
Click ‘New’ and then ‘New folder’
Name this folder ‘Backup’
Either:
Drag your files and folders from your Finder into your new 'Backup' folder
Or, click ‘New File’ or ‘New Folder’ - this will open up a window where you can select what you want to save and then click ‘Upload’
2. Sync your bookmarks and website passwords
Open a Google Chrome Window
Click on your profile in the top right-hand corner of the browser
Make sure it says "Sync is on" - this will mean your bookmarks and passwords from Chrome are saved and will be there when you log in to Chrome on your new device
Once you've backed up and synced your data - you can set your new laptop up as soon as it arrives!
