Set up your Mac

Use the video or step by step written instructions below to help you set up your ITV Mac

You'll need the following - these details:

Step 1 - Set up your preferences 

1. Connect to wi-fi

2. Choose your Country or Region

3. Select any accessibility features - you can also adjust the settings after you've setup your Mac 

4. Setup remote management - click 'Continue'. This means we can setup and manage your Mac remotely

Step 2 - Login to your ITV account 

1. Login using your ITV email address 

2. Verify that it's you with a security method

3. Read the acceptable use policy

3. Wait whilst the laptop completes this update - you'll see this screen

Step 3 - Create an account

1. Fill in the details to create your account

2. Tick the box that says enable location services - then select continue

3. Set up Touch ID so you can login using your fingerprint - then select continue

4. Choose the appearance of your laptop - you can change this later in System Settings

Step 4 - Build your device  

1. A screen will appear showing 'Let’s Get This Show on the Road’ - depending on your internet connection this may take up to 10 minutes

2. Click 'Choose your build' 

3. Select the laptop build you need from the list. A build is where we add the right applications and policies for your role onto your laptop


If you're not sure which build you need, get in touch with us for help

4. Your Mac will then install the build you've chosen and restart - this may take a few minutes 

5. Once your device has restarted, login using your email address or 4x4 username and the password you set up earlier

6. Click 'Enable Now' on the FileVault. This encrypts your device

7. Check you're on the right wi-fi 

If you set up in an office, you may be connected to ITV-DEP Wi-Fi, so you'll need to change this. Click on the Wi-Fi symbol in the top right of the screen and then on "ITV". This will prompt you to enter your 4x4 and password. If you can't see 'ITV' in the list, select 'Other Networks'. If you set up at home, you’ll need to connect to ITV Wi-Fi so follow the instructions above.

When you first work from home on your new Mac, you need to connect to your home Wi-Fi. Click on the Wi-Fi symbol in the top right of the screen and then on your home Wi-Fi’s name. This will prompt you to enter your Wi-Fi password.

Step 5 - Login to your Google account

1.oA new Google Chrome window will open. Enter itv.okta-emea.com

2. Sign in with your ITV email address and password

3. You'll see the Okta dashboard - from there you'll see the apps that have been assigned to you. To get started you'll want to open the following:

Step 6 - Connect to ZScaler

ZScaler allows you to access Shared Drives and iBusiness when you’re not in an ITV office. 

1.AZScaler will open on your laptop screen

2. Read and accept the Acceptable Use Policy

3. Sign in using your ITV email address and password and confirm it's you through Okta 

Step 7 - Add any extra apps you need through AppZone

AppZone is where you can download the different apps you may need for your role. To access it:

1.AClick on the AppZone icon at the bottom of your screen 

2. Browse and then click install on any application you’d like to install - some common apps are:
